Have you heard about a high school reading elective where students choose their own books? During this course, technology is used to enhance learning in several different ways. In this workshop, the presenter will share how the following uses of technology has increased reading interest and engagement.

1. Shelfari as a way to help choose books, publish writing through book reviews, and share what each person is reading.
2. Students use their phones on a book scavenger hunt in the library
3. Book trailers are one of the final projects
4. Technology unit that teaches students about the different ways to buy and read books electronically. (Nook, Kindle, iPad, different audio avenues), etc.
